I have been constantly underestimating and forgetting about the power of a smile. How much a split second of genuine warmth can change an atmosphere, a situation, a mindset. How much an upward curve of a person’s mouth can convey so much, rendering words unnecessary. 

How comforting that is. 

How when you are spiraling into your own thoughts, tumbling into darkness, that it can be a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel, so to speak. A reminder that although there is an end to all things, that also means that personal rabbit holes are no exception to that rule.

“Everything is okay.”
“I’m here for you.”
Possibly even,
“There’s nothing to worry about.” 

Thinking of all the different things that a smile can mean, is itself, a deep well of hope. A greater source of strength even, for something that seems so small.

Sometimes even the smallest of things that might be overlooked as insignificant - they hold the most potential, the most influence.
