Chapter. 11

With love

This is the piece that started this dear my ocean collection.

I’ve always loved the ocean, I loved picking up rocks and shells, or really

anything you see at the ocean. And every time I get to visit the ocean,

I have this habit of photographing my hands or my feet with the ocean

– it is like a way for me to capture this moment of

“I am here.”

These moments at the ocean always feel timeless, or maybe lost in time?

I would find myself never really caring about how much time went by,

because just simply being there, searching for my rocks,

would make me so happy and content.

As if nothing else really matter other than just being there in the moment.

I think we all have something we love so much that, when we start doing it,

or when we are there, nothing else really matters but that.

I remember this one time, while I was searching for rocks, I noticed some people prefer to sit far away, some prefer to talk and walk by the shore, some prefer to see the ocean briefly and move on, in that moment I remember thinking “no one is really the same.” Even if some were also searching for rocks or other ocean finds, what each person would pick will always be different.

That’s when I realized how different we each are, even if we do or do not enjoy the same thing.

“and that’s okay.”

We don’t need to be the same, because we are all meant to be different.

Like finding rocks at the beach, we all find things that are different, just as we all have our own preferences, may we embrace what we love, what we value, and hold it firmly in our hearts.

This ring was simply made because I wanted to be able to wear a ring that is about the ocean the next time I am at the ocean. A ring to remind oneself that it is okay to just love what we love

Like rocks that remain still when waves come and go,

this ring is like a reminder of that stability and focus on your hands.

Let the waves pass, and may what you value and love

become a foundation in your heart, to be still like rocks.

Each ring will have a one of a kind heart, because we are all different.

Each ooak pebble ring will also have a different rock texture, handcarved individually, one by one to make each piece more personal, and allow each person to have its own unique texture.
